The Construction Project Manager will be responsible for leading the design and the construction of Apple projects in the Santa Clara Valley.
Key Qualifications:
•Demonstrated construction and design knowledge
•Minimum of 7 years of commercial/office construction management experience
•Project management as Owner’s Representative in a fast-paced high tech environment; from programming to closeout
•Experience with high-profile and design-oriented projects
•Exceptional attention to design and construction details
•Management of LEED certified projects
•Working knowledge of building/fire/life safety codes
•Strong background in commercial/industrial construction, including mechanical, electrical and plumbing building systems, tenant improvements, dry labs, café/amenity areas, site work, and landscape
•Familiarity with various types of commercial office furniture
•Ability to lead multiple projects, small and large, at the same time
•Must have great interpersonal skills, and excellent writing ability
•The ability to fully utilize Apple products to do your job
Description:
Meet with internal user groups to determine project requirements
Create and maintain project budget including securing internal approvals for capital funding.
Engage and lead the design professionals including architects, engineers, and specialty consultants, from programming through completion & closeout
Participate in architectural design meetings with architects and user groups; analyze, and provide creative solutions and feedback
Engage General Contractors through competitive bidding, and/or negotiation in collaboration with Apple Procurement
Engage and coordinate with Apple IT, Security, and AV design and installation teams
Coordinate Workletter requirements with Landlord representatives and in-house lease administration personnel
Track progress of each project against objectives, design intent, approved budgets, and schedule
Monitor the project from a quality assurance standpoint, performing field walks, and ensure all construction details are completed per architectural design intent
Evaluate and integrate approved user change requests in the most timely and cost-effective manner
Provide regular project status updates
Lead the local jurisdiction relationships in conjunction with the design and the construction teams
