Immediate Opportunity: Senior Analyst/Associate, Investments


Role Description:

An established, diversified, well-capitalized family investment office in Atlanta, Georgia is seeking a dynamic, engaging, self-starter to join its investment team as a Senior Analyst/Associate.


The candidate will underwrite potential acquisitions, dispositions, refinances and recapitalizations, prepare investment memoranda and financial models, provide transaction support throughout due diligence and closing, will support asset management functions, and handle sponsor/investor communications. Working closely with the leadership team, the candidate will gain deep exposure to alternative investments and  commercial real estate investments (asset classes include multifamily, senior housing, self-storage, hospitality, office and mixed-use). Responsibilities:

  • With assistance from the leadership team, underwrite potential acquisitions and provide support by gathering and evaluating economic, demographic and market data, including rent and sales comparable values.
  • Prepare thorough approval packages for potential acquisitions and dispositions
  • Effectively communicate support for and defend underwriting assumptions.
  • Work with and train junior analysts in researching data, formulating hypotheses and preparing underwriting documentation.
  • Generate and present monthly financial analysis and reporting packages for assets that highlight overall return metrics, occupancy statistics, operating variances, and capital improvement strategies.
  • Work closely with property management, partners, and the leadership team to devise and implement strategies to maximize the value of assets under management.
  • Collect, organize, review, and summarize property diligence reports, leases, legal documents, financial and operating information, property condition reports, and other due diligence materials.
  • Interact with sellers, buyers, and brokers to assist in facilitating the efficient completion of acquisition and disposition transactions.
  • Prepare quarterly investor reports for assets with outside investors.
  • Protect the organization’s value by keeping information confidential.

 Minimum Qualifications (Note: Candidates must meet all the requirements below.):

  • Undergraduate degree with major or minor in finance, economics and/or real estate
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in finance, accounting, real estate, investment banking, and/or real estate investment sales, preferably on the buyer side
  • Strong knowledge of real estate finance concepts
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, PowerPoint, and Word – Argus experience a plus
  • Meticulous, with strong analytical and organizational skills, and technical aptitude
  • Polished and professional manner
  • Works well independently and in a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and networking skills necessary to effectively interact with sponsors, senior management, brokers, and other outside parties
  • Able to advance several projects simultaneously and work independently, while communicating work priorities and support needs
  • Satisfactory background check and drug screening by employer
