About the role

The purpose of this position is to implement and lead Health & Safety programs relative to a large corporate account.

What you'll do

  • Monitors injury, illness, and incident related performance. Monitor performance for trends or other indicators of improving or degrading incident performance, and develop and implement strategic solutions to improve performance results.
  • Acts as a resource to staff and internal customers as the HSE Subject Matter Expert. Provide direct and timely advice and information in all matters related to performance, compliance, trends, and concerns.
  • Implements all corporate HSE initiatives and communicate priorities in a manner that effectively drives program consistency across the account.
  • Coordinate specific plans, playbooks, and procedures to make certain they are current, complete, and effectively implemented.
  • Monitors regulatory compliance. Communicates all findings, concerns, and deficiencies to the responsible managers to effect timely and necessary corrections. Develops and implements solutions that will support efforts to improve and maintain compliance.
  • Identifies opportunities to lessen costs while enhancing quality of services.
  • Supports the Principles of Responsibility (Client Code of Conduct) by maintaining the privacy and confidentiality of information, protecting the assets of the organization, acting with ethics and integrity, reporting non-compliance and adhering to applicable federal, state and local laws and regulations, accreditation and client policies and procedures.
  • Other duties may be assigned.


Approves subordinate's recommendations for staff recruitment, selection, promotion, advancement, corrective action and termination. Plans and monitors appropriate staffing levels and utilization of labor, including overtime. Prepares and delivers performance appraisal for staff. Mentors and coaches team members to further develop competencies. Leads by example and models behaviors that are consistent with the company's values.

What you'll need

Bachelors degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university. Minimum of 8 years of related experience.

Demonstrated knowledge of federal, state and local health and safety, and environmental regulations is essential. Direct experience with regulatory agencies and / or compliance officers is required.

As required by local authority (if required). Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH), Certified Hazardous Material Manager (CHMM), Occupational Health and Safety Technician (OHST) - Preferred

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex business documents. Ability to respond effectively to sensitive issues. Ability to write reports, manuals, speeches and articles. Ability to make effective and persuasive presentations to employees, clients, top management and/or public groups. Ability to motivate employees, top management, and client groups to take desired action.

Requires in-depth knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate figures. Ability to forecast and prepare budgets. Conducts financial/business analysis.

Ability to provide solutions to advanced problems in complex situations. Requires analytical and quantitative skills with experience in developing strategic solutions for a growing environment. Draws upon the analysis of others and makes recommendations that have a direct impact on the company.

Decisions made with in-depth understanding and interpretation of procedures, company policies and business practices to achieve general results. Responsible for setting department schedules. Errors in judgment may cause long-term impact to co-workers, supervisor, department and/or line of business.
