The Vice President, Project Management role is a key position within the CBRE Capital Advisors team, and the candidate will have a specific focus on the Institutional Equity practice for North America. The Institutional Equity team is responsible for raising private capital for CBRE clients in the form of commingled funds (both open and closed) and programmatic joint ventures.
This position plays a crucial role in ensuring that the private capital raises are well positioned in a highly competitive market. Key to achieving this goal is understanding how to identify important drivers, gather relevant information, and distill it into meaningful and user-friendly formats and mentor Associates and Analysts in the process of launching and managing new private investment vehicles.
It is anticipated that his professional will take a key role in managing the roll-out and management of client investment vehicles and will report to Andrew Dietz -- Senior Managing Director and Head of Institutional Equity.
Specific responsibilities include:
Market Intelligence
Assess the competitive landscape and help define client strategies in the market; keep findings current.
Maintain ongoing dialogues with industry players (e.g., lawyers, competitors, LPs, etc.) to keep abreast of market trends and how to capitalize on or overcome issues that might impact fund raises.
Transaction Execution
Analyze track records and cash flows; help formulate a strategy for communicating relevant information to the market
Create a clearly definable thesis for positioning and selling each product
Help define fund marketing strategies and create a clear execution plan for each fund raise
Work closely with client and colleagues to develop and hone campaigns that define private capital vehicles in market
Define salient marketing messages; prepare internal talking points and briefing documents for the global distribution/banking professionals
Manage the marketing and sales support process from product concept through to final close of the capital raise, including driving all deliverables
Oversee and coordinate marketing roadshows
Monitor marketing campaigns on a real-time basis to identify issues and create strategies to respond immediately
Maintain regular and ongoing dialogues with internal constituents and clients to understand their challenges and be responsive to their needs
Apprise internal teams and clients as to the status of pertinent fundraises
Investor Communications
Review, prepare and finalize responses to investor information requests including RFIs and due diligence questionnaires
Maintain ongoing dialogues with client investment teams to understand their investments and overall portfolio strategy; synthesize and articulate relevant information for investors
Develop investor communications and respond to investor requests relating to performance on legacy investments and seed portfolio investments made by clients.
Documentation
Draft and provide guidance to junior colleagues on the preparation of all marketing and diligence documents (e.g., teasers, offering memoranda, road show presentations, etc.) and review final work product
Liaise with relevant legal, operations, and accounting teams (internally and externally) for the review and preparation of internal and external documents (e.g., diligence requests, legal docs, etc.)
Work closely with in-house counsel and attorney in responding to inquiries on legal agreements and in organizing fund closings
