The University of Wisconsin-Madison has a long and honored tradition of excellence in education and research in the discipline of real estate and urban land economics. The James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate's main goal is to serve as a link between faculty and students, alumni, the professional real estate community, government agencies, and the general public.

The Real Estate program at the Wisconsin School of Business is comprised of the James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate and the Department of Real Estate and Urban Land Economics. Together, the program has a century-long tradition in fostering excellence in real estate education, research and outreach. Wisconsin is uniquely positioned to provide leadership to the real estate industry in the 21st century.

Program Highlights

Real estate majors learn to appraise property values for investors and the government, broker transactions, oversee development programs, manage properties, and plan and regulate communities.

Established in 1920, the Wisconsin MBA Program in real estate at the Wisconsin School of Business was one of the first real estate programs in the nation. Today, the real estate specialization in the Wisconsin MBA Program offers an in-depth graduate education not found anywhere else. Supported by the James A. Graaskamp Center for Real Estate, the specialization features high-level coursework in real estate development, investment, and analysis, along with fundamental business courses. With a world-class program lead by a network of industry leaders, a comprehensive curriculum, and a global perspective on management, our graduates have the foundation for a successful career in any area of real estate.

If you have earned at least 14 credits of graduate level foundation coursework, including finance, accounting and economics, have a qualifying GMAT or GRE score and meet our English language proficiency requirement, you are eligible to apply (access code required) to the GREM program.
