Description
The position will assist portfolio managers and investment associates with portfolio management duties, transactions (acquisitions, dispositions, and financing), and conducting proprietary portfolio research.
Position is best suited for a college graduate with 2-5 years of relevant experience.
Job Responsibilities:
- Provide analytical support for acquisitions activities, including financial underwriting and return projections (utilizing Excel and/or Argus based cash flow modeling);
- Assist with closing deals, including due diligence, reviewing transaction documents, preparing Investment Committee packages, and coordinating with various internal and external parties;
- Provide analytical support on existing investments, including reviewing valuation models and appraisals, conducting hold-sell-finance-refinance analysis, and evaluating leasing strategies
- Assist with preparing capital market research, proprietary portfolio research on investment strategies; compile, analyze, interpret, and present research
- Maintain performance database and track portfolio performance against benchmarks
- Review, manage, and create investment and portfolio level financial and operational reports
- Review budgets and provide guidance on asset management plans
- Assist with preparing portfolio review presentations for clients
- Assist with new business development efforts
- Coordinate with other departments and external third-party service providers as needed
- Communicate with clients and joint venture partners
- Prepare Excel based cash flow models, including joint venture waterfalls

Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Finance, Accounting, Real Estate, Economics or related field; Master’s degree a plus
- Experience within real estate investment management, private equity, investment banking, asset management, mortgage banking, structured finance, or valuation and transaction advisory
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office products - Outlook, Word, Excel, Publisher & PowerPoint
- Strong Excel financial modeling skills a must; Argus software proficiency preferred
- CFA or CPA Certification or commitment to obtain one preferred
- Appraisal coursework or strong Accounting background
- Some travel required
