Sr. Associate, Performance Analytics

Position Summary:
The senior associate role with the performance analytics team is responsible for the timely reporting of performance analysis related to individual investment and fund activity across a range of funds and accounts; a highly critical function that is part of the continuous monitoring and assessment of investment performance and that contributes to the overall investment process.
The role will interact heavily with fund management teams, various executive committees and Nuveen Real Estate clients. The desire to add value and innovate with client focus in mind, and the ability to concisely present complex information and analysis will be critical to success.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide timely and regular performance analysis and reporting against targets and benchmarks, and which incorporates proactive advice that helps inform future decision making.
- Support the ad-hoc and quarterly performance reporting to the Investment Committee and Global Executive Leadership Teams as it relates to fund and composite level analyses
- Design, enhance and maintain portfolio dashboards to summarize current portfolio positioning, historical performance, capacity for additional investment, and forward-looking operational and performance projections, including scenario analyses based upon portfolio manager assumptions
- Support the Product Development Teams on matters relating to performance analysis that supports ongoing client reporting and contributes to business growth initiatives
- Maintain and operate a standardized platform through which a consistent and best practice approach to performance analysis can be efficiently applied, and support the development of system applications, as identified
- With the support of the wider investment and finance teams and implementation of an effective operational process, ensure that all relevant reporting standards and audit procedures are maintained at all times to best-in-class standards
- Promote awareness across the business of investment performance in the commercial real estate markets and the development of new initiatives that impact on us or our Clients
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree with concentration in finance or accounting
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in investment management, with focus on analytics design and implementation, stress modeling, and process improvement

Understands attribution analysis and is familiar with performance benchmarks, e.g. NCREIF, MSCI/IPD
Preferred:
- MBA
- CFA
- Strong analytical and Excel skills
- Proven record of working with financial and performance systems
- Experience with property valuation techniques
- Fundamental knowledge in accounting and finance principles; familiar with complex open-end and closed-end fund structures
- Ability to employ logical and measurable processes to ensure consistency in approach to, and auditing of, analysis
- Initiative and the ability to work independently, and also the flexibility to work with and support team members
- Ability to concisely present complex information and analysis
- Excellent communication (written and oral), with senior leaders and peers, facilitation, interpersonal and collaborative skills
