SUMMARY

This position reports to the Property Fund Assistant Controller and is responsible for all the accounting and reporting related to the Funds as well as all aspects of the investor reporting.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Supervise the work of 3+ Senior Accountants that handle fund accounting for Investments, Partner’s Capital, Debt, Intercompany Transactions, Monthly Accruals, Monthly Bank and General Ledger Reconciliations
  • Investments include Real Estate, Joint Venture Investments, Loan Portfolios and CMBS
  • Responsible for Investor Reporting including the computation of Carried Interest, preparation of Statements of Partners’ Capital and other required Investor Reporting
  • Review the Valuation process of Fund assets and liabilities
  • Oversee the preparation of the annual and quarterly Fund and Feeder / Blocker Financial Statements and related Note disclosures
  • Assist with interpretation of various legal agreements and initial fund / co – invest / JV structures set up
  • Collaborate with Rialto’s investor relations and compliance teams to ensure all requests fulfilled timely and accurately
  • Prepare the monthly Executive Summary Reports that report and analyze the month’s financial activity
  • Prepare ad hoc reports as requested by the Financial Reporting and Investor Relations department
  • Assist the Tax Department in gathering the data needed for yearly tax returns
  • Assist Assistant Controllers to comply with Internal and External Auditor’s requests
  • Prepare Evaluations, mid-year and year-end

JOB SPECIFICATIONS

  • Must have a minimum of 6 years of experience in accounting with a mix of Private Equity / Fund accounting and Public Accounting
  • Must have an Accounting Degree from a US Accredited Institution
  • Must be a Certified Public Accountant
  • Must have supervised 3 or more associates
  • Must have Experience with Investran
  • Must have excellent skills in Excel, Word, Power Point
  • Must have excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Must be teamwork oriented
  • Must be able to work with little to no supervision
  • Must be proactive in a constantly changing environment
  • Must be available for weekend and after hour work which includes and is not limited to responding to emails in a timely manner and completing tasks based on directives given from supervisors

While performing the duties of this job, the Associate is occasionally required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; balance; stoop.  The Associate must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.  [Evening or weekend work may be necessary to meet deadlines.]
