Responsibilities:

The Development Associate will work closely on high profile developments with the Lead Developer and will interact regularly with corporate executives.   Primary responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Manage complex underwriting models for large scale mixed use projects

  • Analyze and evaluate financial, operational and market data relating to project

  • Provide financial analysis to Developers from acquisitions through stabilization

  • Produce and maintain project reporting including: capital forecasts, project budgets and accounting

  • Prepare materials for internal and external presentations including but limited to: Investor Presentations, Internal Allocation Committee, Development Partners and potential tenants

  • Involvement in all aspects of the development process including but not limited to: acquisitions, entitlement, design, construction, marketing and leasing

  • Develop and implement cash flow analyses

  • Conduct underwriting for real estate acquisitions and redevelopments

  • Perform detailed property analyses, including market research and comparison

  • Research and document local and regional real estate market data relevant to specific investment opportunities or strategies

  • Position includes exposure to other areas of the company to include, but not limited to, retail leasing.

Requirements:

  • 4-year degree in business, finance, accounting, engineering or related field

  • 1-2 years of experience preferred

  • High Proficiency in Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Argus

  • Attention to detail; organized; able to manage multiple priorities

  • Financial statement analysis, commercial lease analysis, asset valuation and market due diligence knowledge

  • Strong leadership, teamwork and organizational skills; assertion, autonomy and initiative; flexibility in a growth organization; passion for real estate
