Senior Financial Analyst/Director for Top Sales Team at Marcus & Millichap in Downtown Los Angeles

 

The Ron Harris Group, one of the top multifamily investment sales teams in Los Angeles and California, is seeking a full-time Senior Financial Analyst/Director to work directly with the Founder and two Senior Agents in the Downtown Los Angeles Office.  This position offers candidates the rare opportunity to be a key contributor to a team that closed $1.3 billion in sales volume and 40 transactions in 2018.  The Senior Financial Analyst/Director must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment with the ability to prioritize and multi-task under tight deadlines as the team has a robust pipeline, typically conducting 100-150 property valuations each year resulting in 35+ closed transactions annually.  Candidates will interface daily with senior agents and their clients, including high-net worth individuals and senior management professionals at some of the most renowned real estate firms on the West Coast. Consistently projecting a friendly and professional demeanor is a must.

 

Candidate’s must have a bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Real Estate or related analytical degree from a Top Tier University and a minimum of two years relevant career experience in the real estate/finance industry, preferably with a concentration in the multifamily sector. Excellent analytical and professional business writing skills are required. Superior computer skills are a must as candidate shall possess a high proficiency with Microsoft Excel with ability to produce an excel financial model from scratch.  Candidates with a background in Investment Banking or Private Equity are encouraged to apply. 

 

Compensation: Extremely Competitive plus Bonus

 

Job Description:

The Senior Financial Analyst/Director will provide financial and analytical support services for Senior Agents and will be responsible for overseeing all pre-marketing deal execution and assisting the senior brokers during marketing campaigns.  Candidate will anchor the preparation of all proposals/opinions of value, underwriting, market research; both in and outside the office in order to evaluate real estate, analyze comparable properties and sales trends and prepare financial analysis for presentation to clients. Candidates shall be a self-starter with the ability to work independently or as a team member. Professionalism and attention to detail are a must.

Duties will include:

  • Prepare financial models for commercial real estate valuation, specifically multifamily
  • Conduct all market research for the team
    • Gather and research sales and rent comparables
    • Track market trends such as rental growth, development pipeline, Marco and Micro data points impacting the multifamily sector, etc.
  • Strategize and collaborate with team members on the production of all internal and external investment memoranda
    • Prepare marketing and promotional materials
    • Prepare marketing proposals and meeting presentation materials
    • Review and analyze financial statements and operating information
    • Work with senior brokers/agents to develop marketing strategies and pitch concepts
  • Oversee the details of the due diligence process for transactions
  • Respond to requests for property information
  • Database management

 

Job Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree, or higher, from a top tier accredited institution
  • Minimum of two years relevant career experience in the real estate investment/finance industry
  • Candidate shall possess strong financial analysis and underwriting skills specifically for multifamily properties
  • Exceptional analytical skills
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Must be highly organized and detail oriented
  • Works well under deadlines

  • Must be highly proficient with Microsoft Excel

The team consists of three senior level brokers, a transaction coordinator, and graphic designer and is consistently one of the top producing teams in Los Angeles and within the company.  The team has a robust pipeline and typically conducts 100-150 property valuations, closes 35+ transactions, and $500+ million in sale volume annually. In 2018, the team closed $1.3 billion in sales volume and 40 transactions.
