Responsibilities 
Primary responsibilities will include assisting the portfolio management team of a ~ $4B open-end real estate fund with the development and execution of portfolio strategies, client reporting and presentations, financial modeling, fund performance and benchmark analyses, property valuation analysis and special projects. Must be able to work as part of a team that includes the functional areas of portfolio finance, asset management, acquisitions, research and marketing/client service.

  • Assist the portfolio management team with the ongoing preparation of Fund and property business plans
  • Prepare, distribute and ensure adherence to critical deadlines for fund and investor reporting; manage data collection across functional teams; prepare and maintain Fund overview decks
  • Interact with asset managers and finance staff in order to obtain portfolio / asset information; prepare analyses and memorandums for senior management
  • Maintain and analyze asset valuation files
  • Maintain and construct proprietary portfolio financial models; conduct financial analyses; monitor and analyze the financial performance for portfolio investments and the Fund
  • Coordinate and write responses for investor/consultant due diligence requests
  • Assist in the drafting and assembly of property investment memorandums
  • Assist the portfolio manager with fund marketing, competitive analysis, reviewing industry trends and other special projects

Qualifications

  • Undergrad degree in business, economics, urban studies and/or real estate with a GPA of 3.3 or higher
  • 4+ years of experience in real estate, finance or related-business position; 2+ years of experience if candidate has completed an MBA or masters of real estate degree; institutional real estate experience preferred; multifamily investment experience a plus
  • High proficiency in property cash flow mechanics, investment analysis and equity/debt considerations
  • Strong writing and financial analysis skills; high competency in preparing and delivering memorandums, analytical reports and data charts
  • High proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially in Excel, Word and PowerPoint; Argus experience a plus
  • Excellent interpersonal communication, organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Candidate should be proactive and self-motivated. Essential candidate attributes include strong work ethic, integrity and commitment to both team and individual project deadlines
