JOB SUMMARY
  


This is mid-level  (3 - 7 years experience) mechanical design engineering support resource role, working on design & construction programs with CBRE's confidential data center client. Specifically, as a member of a program management team, you will be coordinating design input on various large scale design initiatives that will be rolled out to the construction teams that are building our client's hyperscale data centers. 

Ideal candidate has prior data center mechanical design and construction experience, especially related to large cooling systems within large hyperscale data centers. Although not required, applicants with PE, or working toward a PE will be given extra consideration. 

Daily roles and responsibilities include the following:

Provide Mechanical Engineering Support Services for certain design-related activities in connection with data center sites or projects.
 
Serve as our confidential client's consultant, advisor, and authorized representative through all phases of design and construction of data center projects, including retrofits and ground-up builds. 
 
Work with all our confidential client's stakeholder groups, related design consultants and construction management firm(s), and construction contractor(s) to administer the design and/or construction contract(s) on behalf of our confidential client;
 
Provide mechanical engineering guidance and reviews of mechanical engineering works associated with site selection, data center building design;
 
Help develop mechanical engineering guidelines and direction for design standards;
 
Review mechanical designs and provide comments on Basis of Designs, 30%, 65% and 100% design issuances;

Work with all stakeholders to ensure seemless design coordination between all MEP design disciplines. 
 
Travel to client sites to facilitate and support design review "page turns", support design workshops, and collaborate on design meetings as needed throughout the design process of mechanical systems within the data center. 



SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
  


No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position. Provides informal assistance such as technical guidance, and/or training to coworkers. May lead project teams and/or plan, and supervise assignments of lower level employees.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  

Bachelor's degree (BA/BS) from 4-year college or university. Minimum four years of related experience. Prior Supervisory experience preferred.


CERTIFICATES and/or LICENSES
  


PgMP (Program Management Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) certifications preferred.


COMMUNICATION SKILLS
  


Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Strong organizational and analytical skills. Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers. Ability to effectively present information.


FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE
  


Requires advanced knowledge of financial terms and principles. Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, discounts, and commissions. Conducts advanced financial analysis.


REASONING ABILITY
  


Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret complex documents. Ability to solve problems involving several options in situations. Requires advanced analytical and quantitative skills.


OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES
  


Strong process skills, negotiating, decision-making and analytical skills are necessary. Demonstrated ability in project management processes, tools and techniques.

Ability to build and maintain effective professional/client relationships.

Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite including MS Project.
