CBRE Hotels Advisory provides consulting services and industry expertise to help our clients in planning, developing, managing, financing, problem-solving, improving operations, and valuing hotels and other hospitality assets. Our advisory group is constantly providing clients both large and small with the most constructive and valuable advice in the industry, performing feasibility and market studies, acquisition due diligence and valuations involving hotels, resorts, restaurants, golf courses, and a variety of mixed-use developments and other hospitality products. 


Physical Work Location: San Francisco, CA (preferred), Denver, CO, or Bozeman, MT

PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES

The Consultant will work alongside senior staff in the research for and writing of market demand and financial feasibility studies, real estate appraisals, operational analyses, developer and operator searches, and litigation support for hospitality properties throughout the region.


Research, assess and present an overview of the neighborhood and competitive hotel market surrounding the site or building.

Research and assess market economic and demographic characteristics.

Learn and assess local lodging market trends including demand generators and seasonality patterns.

Identify a competitive sample of hotels for a specific project.

Research new and proposed hotel additions or deletions.

Present historical and projected market trends including occupancy, ADR, and RevPAR.

Conduct and present research in a logical written and spoken manner, and prepare preliminary recommendations for peer review.

The projects cover the full spectrum of full-service and select service hotels, resorts, golf courses,ski resorts, conference centers, restaurants, and mixed-use real estate developments.

Other duties include minor office administrative tasks in support of the practice leaders and maintaining databases of local markets.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE
  

The candidate must have completed college-level finance and statistics courses, possess strong financial analysis skills, good fact-finding ability, and a desire to learn the lodging industry.

The candidate must have a strong work ethic and excellent personal presentation skills for frequent client and peer interactions.

Mastery of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is necessary. 

Some travel is required. 

Prior work experience in the lodging industry preferred.

COMMUNICATIONS SKILLS

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Strong organizational and analytical skills.

Ability to provide efficient, timely, reliable and courteous service to customers.

Ability to effectively present information.

FINANCIAL KNOWLEDGE

Requires knowledge of financial terms and principles.

Ability to calculate intermediate figures such as percentages, IRRs, present values, and growth rates, and use a financial calculator.

OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Ability to comprehend, analyze, and interpret documents.

Ability to solve problems involving several options.

Ability to create compelling documentation and deliverables.

Ability to multi-task and manage multiple projects.
