JOB SUMMARY


CBRE|HEERY seeks a Construction Inspector for a Federal Construction Project.  The Inspector will provide on-site inspection and construction oversight services on a new Land Port of Entry (LPOE) project on behalf of the General Services Administration. The project entails the design and construction of new Land Port of Entry in Northern Maine.


ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES


On-site inspection of various aspects of construction site.

Verifies that construction is in accordance with contract documents, including design, mechanical, electrical and plumbing specifications.

Reviews design documents.

 

Services also include, but limited to: providing QA inspection services for all building trades, monitor submittals, provide documentation and reporting, monitor contractor safety, observe testing activities, participate in monthly payment meetings, manage change orders, review contractors schedule throughout the construction phase advising owner of any discrepancies, etc. and monitor contractors record drawings. Also, this project will require extensive coordination activities with GSA, US Customs and Border Protection (CBP), the State of Maine DOT, other local and state jurisdictions and other stakeholders.

 

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES


No formal supervisory responsibilities in this position.

QUALIFICATIONS

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

 

Familiar with all building construction trades to include: utilities, infrastructure, concrete, steel, roofing, interiors, HVAC, electrical systems, fire-protection systems, security, etc. Also, must possess good communication skills, computer skills to include Microsoft Office Suite software, good written communication skills, and ability to be a team player.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE


Associate's degree in a related field; or one to two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
