Commercial Real Estate/CMBS Research Associate       About the Position:   This is a unique opportunity to conduct research for one of the leading CMBS Content Providers on the Street. As a research associate, you will analyze and develop commentary on commercial real estate property trends, and performance, as well as CMBS and CRE CLO topical issues. In addition, you will work with senior colleagues in publishing reports on credit trends, market updates, and sector specific events.  

Responsibilities:
  • Provide fundamental research on commercial real estate markets and property trends based on collected information/data
  • Compile and analyze market data from various external and proprietary databases
  • Work with Microsoft Excel and VBA and manipulate and format data sets
  • Utilize analytical software and data providers including Trepp, CoStar
  • Generate and present research ideas for publication
  • Assist in the publication of thought leadership articles of interest to the CRE/CMBS marketplace
  • Prepare and maintain ongoing packages of market statistics for use in meetings and for presentations to market constituents
  • Be exceptionally attuned to details, with a propensity to quality check your own work
  • Take initiative and work independently, as well as work closely with research team lead and other group members in a collaborative, fast-paced environment
    Qualifications:
  • 3 plus years’ relevant experience.
  • Strong analytical skills and experience with spreadsheets, financial modeling and data queries.
  • CMBS experience is not required, but a plus.
  • Light programming/VBA and SQL skills are desirable, but not essential
