Oakland (pop. 420,000) is recruiting for the Real Estate Managing Director position within the Department of Economic & Workforce Development. The Managing Director will report to the Department Director and manage a staff of 22 and an annual budget of $6.3 million. The City is seeking an experienced real estate professional to lead the management, disposition, and development of the City’s real property assets.
Competitive candidates will have experience in all aspects of real property asset management including knowledge of development agreements, redevelopment successor agencies, affordable housing, and community engagement processes. Experience working in a local government is desirable.
A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university and in a minimum of 5 years of progressively responsible management experience is required. Salary range $156,458 to $192,085 annually, plus benefits.
