Akelius owns and manages residential properties in New York, Boston, Washington DC, Toronto and Montreal.

Position Summary

Reporting to the Head of New York, the candidate shall take a hands-on leadership approach, providing guidance and direction to all members of his/her branch. The candidate is responsible for and overseeing the company’s real estate strategy for all individual real estate assets within their portfolio.

Responsibilities

· Oversee implementation of company’s asset business plan.
· Maximize total return for each assigned asset through analysis of property efficiencies and identifying opportunities for improved performance and value-addition.
· Maximize revenue, control expenses, and enhance value on real estate assets.
· Maintain strong relationships and partner to collaborate on short ,intermediate, and long-term real estate strategies to meet objectives and goals.
· Work closely with and provide direction to Construction Managers, Property Managers, Property Administrators, and Leasing Managers, for business plans, capital budgets, operating budgets, forecasts, lease levels, analyses and approvals.
· Over operations, unit renovations and capital renovations.
· Provide guidance and mentor members of his/her team (branch).
· Negotiate third party contracts.
· Provide valuation models and reports for each asset in the portfolio.
· Develop and distribute periodic asset management reports.
· Travel to real estate locations, and hold internal branch meetings on a regular basis.
· Adhere to internal policies and procedures.

Requirements and Qualifications

· Must have Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate or related field
· 3+ year of real estate analysis/ asset management experience with an emphasis in multi-unit residential real estate

· Must have strong working knowledge of Excel

· Must have knowledge of real estate finance terminology and its application in financial analysis
· Strong verbal and written communication skills are required. Able to work as a team a must.
