Senior Property Accountant

SUMMARY: Prepares all financial statements and provides management/client with financial information requested

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Reviews Balance Sheets and Income Statements per property to verify account balances and reasonable revenue and expense amounts.
  • Ensures the accuracy of all general ledger information.
  • Review invoices and verifies the accuracy of coding.
  • Maintain the accuracy of schedules/work papers to the monthly financial reports.
  • Assists in the preparation of tenant move-in & move-outs.
  • Performs annual CAM reconciliations and assembles the necessary detail for accounts receivables use.
  • Prepares financial reports, including budget, payroll, insurance, tax, fixed assets, amortization/depreciation, and CAM information.
  • Ensures reports/documents are forwarded to auditors and maintains applicable documentation.
  • Informs management as to any discrepancies or any other problem areas that may exist that arise from the audit.
  • Meets Accounting Department calendar deadlines.
  • Monitor Cash Flow.
  • Prepare ad hoc reporting as requested.
  • Assists Accountant(s) with the preparation of funding requests.
  • Preparation of bank reconciliations.
  • Assists with complex projects.
  • Assists with the preparation of business plans and special projects.
  • Other related duties may be assigned, as necessary.
  • Prepare financial reports for property under development and prepare loan draws.
  • Improves processes related to the above duties and responsibilities.
  • Prepares monthly financial reports for small to large company portfolios

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE and ATTRIBUTES:

  • Bachelor s Degree (B.A./B.S.) from a four-year college or university
  • YARDI experience
  • 5-7 years of Real estate industry experience
  • Working knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting
  • Experience with CAM/Tax billings
  • Proficient in MS Word and Excel
