Based on our continued growth and success, we are seeking candidates for the role of Managing Director - Multifamily in our Glen Allen, Virginia office. This individual will work within the Commercial Residential Management division of CCP in a team-first and fast-paced environment.


The Managing Director - Multifamily will be responsible for developing and overseeing a multifamily property management platform by expanding our property management and asset management base. This role will be assisting with the company’s acquisition and development strategy, leading the growth and operation of the CCP Multifamily platform, and managing the overall P&L for the business unit.


Duties include but are not limited to the following:


Business Development:

  • Leverage existing robust multifamily real estate, construction, and property management network that will lead to profitable opportunities.
  • Identify apartment properties, partnerships, and portfolios for potential management assignments or acquisitions.
  • Develop a metrics-driven sales pipeline from lead generation to initial contact to close including necessary tools and marketing materials to identify prospects, articulate our unique value proposition.
  • Develop and implement strategies to cultivate business with prospective clients.
  • Prospect, qualify, pitch, and close new real estate opportunities. Ultimately will propel our growth even further by adding thousands of units to our portfolio.
  • Researching business opportunities and viable income streams within multifamily.
  • Document duplicable sales process, appropriate metrics, and reports on all sales pipeline activities.
  • Develop and manage relationships with brokers, property owners and other members of the real estate community to facilitate sourcing of new business.
  • Develop and implement new initiatives, strategies, and programs to grow business and drive sales to key markets, prospects, and demographics.
  • Build relationships with many of the largest developers and owners in Central Virginia.
  • Use local real estate knowledge and a network of contacts to source developers and real estate owners with suitable development opportunities where the Multifamily business model can operate and create value.
  • Develop and maintain a network of local relationships to drive the supply pipeline.
  • Become an expert at pipeline management while ensuring full compliance with business development procedures and driving improvements to the process when shortcomings are identified.

Ongoing Management:

  • Recommend and implement best practice processes and procedures so to successfully grow NOI.
  • Ensure the portfolio and individual communities meet the established operational, financial, and business performance goals by inspecting properties, reviewing financial, market, and operational reports, and developing and implementing appropriate action plans to achieve results.
  • Create annual property valuation analyses, business plans, and benchmarking for each asset. As part of this process, perform market analysis and work with Leasing and Operations/ Property Management functions to develop leasing objectives, operating and financial budgets, operating/capital/redevelopment project plans, as part of annual plans.
  • Hire, train, supervise, develop, and performance manage a team in accordance with company operating standards and directives; perform performance evaluations; and assist Property Managers with site-level employees.
  • Develop processes and dashboards to plan, track, and report on multiple projects in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Works with external and internal customers and must have an excellent working knowledge of multifamily investments, strong communication, negotiation, and the ability to read, interpret and analyze financial statements for multi-family assets.
  • Oversee the development of the annual budget(s) for the properties comprising the assigned portfolio and oversee attainment of budgeted goals by analyzing and evaluating financial statements, reconciling monthly statements against approved budget, and working with the Asset Manager, client/owner, and others to address and resolve gaps in the financial performance of the portfolio; Monitor and makes recommendations on budget performance and prepares monthly or quarterly summary report of same.
  • Monitor and make recommendations to improve marketing activities; reviews occupancy status; and recommend rent schedules.
  • Participate in training, unit mix, establishment of rent rates, and other operational matters. Coordinate staffing and office set-up of new communities.
  • Act as primary liaison between Owner or Owner’s Representative and Management.
  • Participate in local and regional trade associations.
  • Recruit, train and manage onsite management and execute CCP strategy.
  • Work with President and Director of Property Management ensure all strategic goals are clearly defined, communicated, and implemented across all buildings within the portfolio. Ensure compliance with all best practices, training and other policies and procedures.
  • Work to and manage team toward strengthening owner/client relationships and proactive communication.
  • Assist with (in tandem with PM leadership and team) construction management process as it relates to those improvements.


Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree required.
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in a director-level leadership role.
  • Appropriate designations and participation in professional and industry organizations desired.
