Position: Analyst

Reports To: Vice President, Finance and Investments
FLSA Status: Exempt
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
- Actively manage and enhance the company’s real estate development and investment models as well as assist in maintaining portfolio roll-up models and corporate models
- Develop project-level and market-level assumptions, incorporating assumptions into the models; work closely with Development and Construction team members to ensure assumptions are consistent with market conditions
- Communicate updated model assumptions to the team, presenting and supporting returns
- Perform independent research and regularly communicate with brokerage firms and other research outlets to monitor market trends and report to team on relevant developments
- Evaluate and underwrite potential real estate acquisitions, supporting assumptions in written investment memoranda and presenting to the team
- Assist with analysis to support capital strategy, including equity and debt capital raise activity from inception through close
- Assist with the preparation of investor presentations and periodic reporting materials
- Prepare ad hoc partner-level reports and analyses
- Serve as a liaison between Finance and other departments, using frequent communication
- Support the Capital Markets team in preparing analyses and reports for investors and investment partners
- Continually evaluate assumptions, materials, and workflow with an eye toward improving functionality, format, and overall productivity
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS
- Proven experience in Excel-based financial modeling and strong analytical skills
- Experience using PowerPoint, Yardi, and market research platforms preferred
- Experience sourcing market research and utilizing comparable data for analysis
- An understanding of advanced financial concepts, common real estate acquisition and development return metrics, and multifamily and office investment fundamentals
- Ability to apply critical thinking and recommend alternative methods of analysis
- Streamline complex processes into easy-to-understand, presentable messages
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple tasks, and meet deadlines
- Excellent communication skills and ability to support underwriting assumptions
- Proven organizational skills and exceptional attention to detail
- Comfortable working independently as well as within a team
- Ability to maintain confidentiality regarding sensitive information
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s Degree (concentration in finance or business administration is desirable)
- 1+ years of relevant real estate finance, acquisitions, development, and/or underwriting experience
