Investment Manager

We are seeking an Investment Management professional for Arch Companies’ Investment Team.  The Investment professional will be focused on assets in Arch’s development and commercial portfolio in various stages of development, lease up and stabilized operations. The position will be based full time in our New York City offices. 

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

• Oversee, track, and monitor the execution of each asset’s business plan

• Create and maintain financial models using Excel to project cash flows, investment returns, generate asset valuations, analyze risk, and evaluate various financial structures to analyze dispositions and recapitalizations

• Support the onboarding of new acquisitions

• Ensure compliance with key deadlines and deliverables due under loan documents and joint venture documents

• Build and support strong corporate relationships with existing lenders

• Cultivate strong relationships with property leasing teams and actively participate in weekly calls and commercial lease negotiations

• Analyze debt options for existing property refinancing

• Provide analysis to recommend refinancing and dispositions

• Monitor potential cash needs

• Support on-going monitoring, analysis and reporting of individual investments

• Develop a streamlined process with the operations team, construction team, and accounting team on the timely creation of quarterly reports

• Recommend quarterly distributions in accordance with each investment’s business plan and venture documents

• Establish and facilitate positive long-term relationships with commercial tenants

• Support the creation and approval of annual / project budget and business plan for each investment

• Coordinate data and information to assist in responding to various investor requests related to assigned assets

• Maintain accuracy of investor portal for assigned assets in a timely manner

• Various other portfolio related tasks, as directed by management

Experience, Skills and Abilities Required

• Minimum 3 - 5 years of prior commercial real estate experience, development experience is a plus

• Strong familiarity with real estate legal documents (loan documents, commercial leases, and joint venture agreements)

• Understanding of waterfalls and distributions

• MBA strongly preferred

• Minimum Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, economics, accounting, real estate or other similar fields

• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint and Word

• Strong organizational and deadline management skills

• A self-starter, dedicated and professional demeanor capable of thriving in an intense, high-energy, entrepreneurial environment

• Highly analytical, detail-oriented, and able to comfortably multi-task

• Intelligent and practical approach to problem solving

• Excellent oral and written communication skills

• Ability to build and contribute to in a collaborative team environment
