Our client is one of the top institutional lenders, based in Charlotte, NC. The Commercial Real Estate (CRE) team is looking for an Analyst-level underwriting candidate to help support the conduit lending effort.

Their Real Estate Capital Markets specializes in originating commercial real estate loans intended for CMBS securitization or that will be held on the Bank’s balance sheet. The group originates loans in all major markets across the US on varying property types and with loan amounts ranging from $1 million to $1B.

The Commercial Mortgage Analyst will perform basic and advanced functions to support commercial real estate loan origination, underwriting and/or real estate analysis, underwriting and/or marketing functions (e.g., due diligence, document processing, research, financial/statistical analysis, etc.) related to transactions.

Responsibilities for this position include, but are not limited to:
* Working with higher level staff to understand client needs and requirements and coordinates efforts to service clients by working   closely with underwriting, pricing, and loan administration departments
* Working directly with brokers and borrowers to prepare underwriting models for loan analysis
* Developing and maintaining knowledge of loan products and provide market intelligence to maintain competitive edge.
* Ensuring collected data meets property level data
* Preparing asset summary reports and credit memos for senior management and credit partner review
* Monitoring credit agreement compliance

They are accountable for execution of all applicable risk programs (Credit, Market, Financial Crimes, Operational, Regulatory Compliance), which includes effectively following and adhering to applicable policies and procedures, appropriately fulfilling risk and compliance obligations, timely and effective escalation and remediation of issues, and making sound risk decisions. There is emphasis on proactive monitoring, governance, risk identification and escalation, as well as making sound risk decisions commensurate with the business unit’s risk appetite and all risk and compliance program requirements.

Qualifications required:
* BS/BA degree or higher; or 2+ years of real estate experience

* Strong technical writing skills
* Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and accuracy
* Basic Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and Outlook) skills
* Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
* A BS/BA degree or higher
* Ability to achieve high production and quality standards
* Ability to address and resolve complex customer issues
* Ability to articulate issues, risks, and proposed solutions to various levels of staff and management
* Ability to be proactive, innovative and creative in meeting customer and enterprise needs
* Basic Microsoft Office skills, with advanced skills in Excel
* Outstanding problem solving and decision making skills

* Ability to work additional hours as needed
* Ability to travel domestically
