C-III Capital Partners is seeking an Associate in the Asset Management Group in the Dallas office. C-III Capital Partners is a real estate investment management firm with over $4 billion in assets under management. Our investors include some of the largest pension fund plans, university endowments, insurance companies, and family offices in the United States. C-III Capital Partners invests in commercial real estate equity and debt. This position will work with the real estate private equity funds which focus on value-add and opportunistic investments.

 

The Associate position will support all elements of asset management and will be involved in a wide range of commercial real estate investment strategies in a fast-paced and challenging environment. The role will support an Asset Manager, West Coast in managing the operations, financing, reporting and valuation of the investments in all of the West Coast markets. The position may also include responsibility for the oversight of individual assets under the supervision and direction of the Asset Manager. The position requires the ability to understand fully the assets’ investment objectives and strategies, related loan documents, partnership agreements, and historical and projected property performance. The Associate role is intended to provide the opportunity for motivated, talented individuals over time to gain the experience and judgment to progress to asset manager level competency.

 

Responsibilities

  • Build and maintain asset valuation and cash flow models using Excel
  • Review and scrutinize annual operating budgets
  • Prepare property performance reports for internal management
  • Monitor leasing activity and evaluate leasing proposals on all commercial assets
  • Monitor investment partners, third party property managers and vendors to improve property performance
  • Evaluate major capital projects and other factors impacting asset value
  • Perform regular property inspections; travel required
  • Develop, review and implement annual business plans
  • Update and maintain market information

 

Qualifications

  • Good understanding of the operational and investment fundamentals of institutional real estate
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel, PowerPoint, and Word required
  • Ideally one to three years progressive work experience at a real estate private equity firm, commercial real estate firm, investment bank, or commercial bank
  • Proficiency with Argus required
  • Excellent verbal, writing and interpersonal communication skills required
  • Must have strong quantitative analysis skills
  • Ability to work in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment with low to moderate supervision and the freedom to propose and implement creative solutions
  • Undergraduate degree is required, advanced degree a plus
