Company Background/Culture

Our Client is a Dallas-based, privately held real estate investment company investing in and developing a unique, opco/propco luxury multifamily portfolio targeted to young professionals within an urban setting. The Company has a nearly $2 billion development pipeline, including projects under construction, and its objective is to build and scale the platform in order to raise permanent capital for the business.

Our client requires a strong financially savvy Associate to provide a broad range of financial and operational support to assist in the growth of the business. The candidate will be working closely with the senior management team, allowing for an unusual amount of exposure and responsibilities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create, maintain & update property development and operating models and valuations; evaluate acquisition/investment opportunities with development partners.
  • Conduct market research relating to proposed acquisitions/developments (e.g. supply/demand drivers, competitive property market rents).
  • Assist in due diligence of new investments, draft investment committee memoranda.
  • Perform ad hoc analyses (furnished premiums, carry costs, platform summary).
  • Assist in developing annual platform budgets and the review of property business plans; maintain budget to actuals.  Reforecast regularly as needed.
  • Assist with equity and debt capital raising activities.
  • Assist in performing financial analyses related to platform and property-level capital raising and permanent capital   structures.
  • Evaluate property-level financing options: construction, bridge, permanent.
  • Maintain platform marketing materials. Respond to investor diligence requests/questions.

Education / Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree with concentration in Finance, Economics, or Real Estate a plus
  • A minimum of 2-7 years (Associate) of direct real estate investment or development experience
  • Excellent Excel modelling skills with the ability to create Excel models from scratch for development projects and partnership waterfalls
  • Self-motivated, hard-working, attention to detail, impeccable integrity
  • Excellent oral and writing skills
