Based in Stamford, Connecticut, CleanFund Commercial PACE Capital, Inc. (‘CleanFund’) is the leading provider of commercial Property Assessed Clean Energy (“CPACE”) financing for energy efficiency, water conservation, renewable energy and resiliency improvements for commercial properties, including multifamily, hospitality, industrial, retail and other nonresidential properties.

CleanFund’s mission is to make CPACE a mainstream solution for commercial property owners to adopt energy, water, and other improvements that drive beneficial environmental impacts as well as reduced operating expenses and higher property valuations. CleanFund has significant expertise in closing complex commercial real estate financings and CPACE policy which resulted in closing the $54.7 million financing for the new Hyatt Regency Hotel at the Salt Lake City Convention Center which was the industry’s largest CPACE financing at the time of closing.

 

 

Responsibilities and Duties

 

 

Based in Stamford, CT, this position supports the Head of Portfolio Management in the servicing of C PACE financings originated by CleanFund, including managing the disbursement of progress payments during construction, monitoring and tracking collections and periodic investor reporting.


Responsibilities include:

  • Monitor and track receipt of all scheduled assessment collections and track collections as they are remitted from local tax collectors or third-party servicers to the Company’s trustees.
  • Provide prompt notice to appropriate stakeholders of delinquent payments and work with the borrower and/or PACE program administrators to promptly resolve any payment issues.
  • Process all construction disbursements in conformance with the financing documents, the CPACE program requirements and the Company’s guidelines.
  • Prepare periodic servicing reports identifying delayed or delinquent payments, construction progress, compliance with underlying financing documents and any other special situations.
  • Provide guidance to Credit and Origination teams on disbursement milestone schedules for new deals.
  • Ensure Company’s loan management system reflects accurate and up-to-date data for financial reporting and presentation to internal and external stakeholders.
  • Complete post-closing file reviews and identify any deviations from established procedures.
  • Respond to internal and third-party audits, as necessary.
  • Coordinate and/or prepare payoff and account balance statements, as necessary.

 

 

Qualifications and Skills

  • At least 7 to 10 years of experience in servicing commercial real estate (“CRE”) loans, with in-depth experience in disbursing progress payments for construction loans.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Interest in clean energy finance for commercial real estate.
  • Ability to review and understand construction contracts and draw schedules for CRE construction financings.
  • Experience with C-PACE financings is a strong plus.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office is required.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong focus on ensuring customer satisfaction and a superior client experience.
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills, particularly managing multiple deadlines and competing priorities.
