Job Description
The HomeAid Los Angeles (HALA) Executive Director assists the HALA Board of Directors further it’s mission to help people experiencing or at risk of homelessness build new lives through construction, community engagement and education. HALA’s a non-profit organization, and is one of 19 HomeAid chapters across the country. Under the direction of the Board, the Executive Director will work with the board to meet HALA’s objectives and goals established for its builds, WORKS and Cares programs.
Key Responsibilities:
- Implementation HALA’s strategic plan as developed by the Board of Directors
- Implement fund development programs, e.g. grants
- Manage HALA’s day-to-day operations
- Establish relationships with the home building, real estate, construction industries as well as homeless advocate organizations
- Manage staff (currently 1) and third-party relationships (consultants, etc.)
- Continue to grow HALA’s Builds, WORKS and Care programs
- Assist HALA’s committees
- Develop and implement HALA’s media and public relations strategies
- Monitor and assist with budget and financial reporting
- Serves as primary spokesperson through media, public speaking and appearances
Qualifications:
- Knowledge of local community required
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in leading a nonprofit or managing a complex and diverse organization
- Demonstrate understanding of charitable organizations and operations
- Construction/Real Estate experience preferred
- Grant Writing experience preferred
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
- Strong financial administrative experience
- Familiarity with the Los Angeles community and homelessness services
- Demonstrate ability to identify and capitalize upon funding entities
- Minimum 10 year’s work experience and college degree
