Description


Essential Responsibilities include, and are not limited to:

  • Process and review accounts payable for each respective property: obtains approvals, code according to budget, review invoices for accuracy and consistency with contracts, resolve discrepancies
  • Prepare cash receipts for deposit
  • Record all cash receipts and wire transfers, properly applying tenant payments to tenant accounts
  • Monitor tenant payments according to lease terms, contact tenants regarding late payments and apply late charges
  • Track and ensure property taxes, insurance payments and other recurring fees are paid on a timely basis
  • Prepare and issue monthly tenant statements with accurate rents, recoveries, late fees and bill-back charges
  • Review, map and record third party managers’ monthly financial activity
  • Reconcile cash and investment accounts
  • Update and prepare depreciation and amortization schedules and journal entries
  • Compute, prepare and update recurring property tax accrual and prepaid insurance journal entries
  • Reconcile intercompany activity over all entities
  • Perform annual CAM reconciliations and assemble the necessary detail and back-up for the tenants’ use 
  • Assist in preparation of both property level and G&A annual budget and periodic reforecasting
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
    • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) from four-year College or University; or five to seven years related experience and/or training in commercial property accounting; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
    • Knowledge of Yardi strongly preferred
    • Experience with accounting for Commercial Real Estate
    • Intermediate to advanced skills with MS Excel and Word
    • Ability to communicate effectively, both oral and written; ability to develop and sustain cooperative working relationships; team player
    • Organizational/Multi-Tasking: ability to allocate time effectively, work under pressure, and meet deadlines; ability to handle multiple demands and competing priorities; ability to prioritize workload; ability to work at a detailed leve
