We are seeking a well-rounded, self-motivated Senior Advisor Retail Investment Strategy with specific experience in sourcing retail and retail related real estate opportunities either through acquisition or investment of rescue capital which can create unique opportunities capitalizing on the changing retail landscape. The role will be formalized in a consulting agreement.

Job Responsibilities

The Advisor is responsible for generating acquisition opportunities by working directly with retailers, owners (both public and private) and in partnership with Foreclosure, Bankruptcy, and REO vendors, which requires an extensive background and relationships within the retail and retailer community.

Reporting:

The candidate will initially report to the Chairman and President and will participate with other members of the acquisition team in a collaborative, team orientated environment.

Duties:

  • Sourcing and/or evaluating prospective acquisition opportunities in accordance with company criteria with primary focus within the retail sector recognizing those opportunities that can be re-purposed or re-capitalized.
  • Prepare initial financial analysis, underwriting and deal summaries for opportunities being recommende
  • Working with internal resources, develop and expand relationships within the foreclosure, bankruptcy, title and lender communities to facilitate opportunities.
  • Attend selected conferences

The Ideal Candidate will possess the following:

  • Minimum of 20 + years of retail real estate industry experience.
  • Likely candidate may have been a former CEO or head of acquisitions for either a public or private retail real estate company with broad geographic coverage
  • Strong time-management skills, including the ability to effectively prioritize work to generate potential opportunities.
  • Strong aptitude for assessing, understanding, and quantifying risk.
  • Strong business acumen and ability to interface with executive management team
  • Strong quantitative and analytical abilities; ability to quickly assess deal viability
  • Travel required
