Nationwide lending company that services and finances a significant number of sophisticated bridge loans on all commercial real estate property types is seeking a temporary Senior Financial Analyst/Underwriter who will have the potential to be hired full-time. Our entire team is working from home right now, however this position will eventually be based in our Los Angeles headquarters once the office reopens. LA based candidates preferred. You will work with a dynamic, energetic, and effective team. Our team members are our biggest asset and we are passionate about their growth and development. This role is an amazing opportunity to source, manage, and close deal transactions, as well as participate in client meetings and oversee investor presentations and discussions.

The successful candidate will have a bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics and 5-7 years of commercial real estate experience for a small firm. To be successful in this role you must have exceptional financial modeling skills in Excel, a proven ability to work independently without analyst support, analytical skills, a general understanding of the key valuation drivers for various property types in multiple locations, the ability to read and interpret financial statements and leases. You must be detail-oriented, a self-starter, have strong verbal/written communication skills, maintain a sense of urgency, work as a team player, and have a fantastic attitude.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop cash flow analysis in Excel and Argus. Build financial models in Excel.  
  • Collect, organize and analyze financial information including cash flows and leasing
  • Interact with brokers, developers, investors and owners to develop assumptions for cash flow models
  • Review opinions of value and appraisals to verify and present to partners and loan/credit committee
  • Write financial and market analysis narratives
  • Research and analyze comparable lease and sales data
  • Manage and monitor process checklists and timelines
  • Manage project due diligence requirements
  • Provide transaction process support
  • Assist with other projects as needed

Requirements:

  • 5-7 years minimum of commercial real estate experience; private lending expereince preferable
  • Minimum Bachelor’s degree, Finance, Accounting or Economics preferred
  • Complex financial modeling experience in Excel; Argus Enterprise, office, multifamily, industrial, retail, and hospitality underwriting experience preferred
  • Enterprise using CoStar and Real Capital Analytics is a plus
