As the Senior Counsel, Real Estate, working on behalf of ARA’s core fund and in partnership with senior management, you will be responsible for drafting and negotiating commercial leases and related contracts, service agreements, easements, and construction-related agreements. You will guide tenant default matters and provide advice on the legal aspects of leasing, contracts, and general real estate matters such as title and land use issues. This position is based in ARA’s Los Angeles office.
What You Will Do
  • Draft and negotiate office, industrial and retail leases, subleases, amendments, assignments, letters of intent, and other related leasing documents.
  • Provide guidance and advice on legal aspects of leasing and other general real estate matters, including title and land use issues.
  • Draft and negotiate easements and contracts relating to such matters as property management, leasing services, design, construction, and other service agreements.

Your Background
You have ten years’ experience or more in the legal field with prior “big law firm” and in-house experience demonstrating increased responsibilities over time with broad expertise in a wide variety of real estate, environmental, contract, and other areas surrounding the ownership and operation of institutional quality commercial real estate. You are a successful candidate who is a creative thinker who can translate thoughts into action, works collaboratively, high energy and seeks to outperform expectations, and conducts business in a manner that reflects ARA’s culture and promotes its values.
