Description
PROPERTY ACCOUNTANT
- Perform bank reconciliations (operating, reserve, money market, brokerage, and security deposit).
- Analyze Budget Variance Report for assigned properties.
- Review General Ledger and make necessary reclassifications.
- Perform quarterly accruals and consolidation for select Buildings
- Prepare and reconcile summary cash position report.
- Prepare management statements for Account Executives review and email to Board of
- Directors.
- Code miscellaneous receipts
- Pay Real Estate Taxes on Quarterly basis
- Coordinate year-end audits with Controller.
- Record building mortgage expense in MRI
- Set up new mortgages in J.P. Morgan Access.
- Transact and record transfers between bank accounts.
- Initiate wire transfers for approval and release.
- Assist in the initiation and coordination of budgets.
- Calculate real estate tax escalations for commercial tenants.
- Pay quarterly and semi-annual real estate taxes and record in MRI.
- Prepare sales tax returns
- Prepare and Analyze Fiscal and Calendar year budgets
- Prepare Journal Entries for RT Payroll
- Complete miscellaneous projects that arise, as needed.
- Perform various Accounts Receivable functions
- May be required to perform duties outside their normal responsibilities as needed and when requested.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree, preferably in accounting.
- Prior experience in the real estate industry.
- Experience with MRI property management software.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word and Intermediate Excel.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact with people at all
- levels within the organization.
- Independent, self-motivated team player who is attracted to a small, collegial working
- environment.
